Born in Delhi, singing was a hobby from childhood, which was later
on adopted as a profession, in spite of great resentment from parents.
Initial training started under Late Pandit Shiv Prasad Ji and thereafter
by his son Pandit Jwala Prasad Ji, who needs no introduction in
the world of music.
Specialise in Ghazals, Geet, Bhajan Sandhyas, Jagran, Chowki, Shabad
and Folk Songs. Most of the songs, ghazals and bhajans composed
by self and sing in many languages, including Hindi, Punjabi, Haryanvi,
Rajasthani and Bengali.
Got married to Rajwinder Kaur in 1989, who is also a renowned singer.
PERFORMANCES
Innumerable performances in Stage Shows held
all over India. Most memorable shows were with celebrities like
Ravindra Jain, Mahendra Kapoor, Nitin Mukesh, Sudesh Bhosle, Sulakshna
Pandit, Hem Lata, Hans Raj Hans, Pakistani Singer Reshma, Late Asa
Singh Mastana, Surinder Kaur, Narender Chanchal, Sunidhi Chauhan,
Richa Sharma, Jaspinder Narula, Sonu Nigam and Arjun.
Performances have been applauded by stalwards like Dilip Kumar,
Rajesh Khanna, Shashi Kapoor, Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, Rajinder
Kumar, O.P. Relhan, Johny Leaver, B.R. Chopra, Raj Babbar, Smita
Patil, Minakshi Seshadri and Pinaz Masani.
Widely travelled abroad and presented shows in Singapore, London,
Bulgaria, Nepal, Dubai, Bahrain and Muscat.
Whereas the trip to Bulgaria was organised by Wasan Co. to promote
Indian Culture in foreign countries, the show in London was sponsored
by Indo-British Cultural Society. These programmes included Stage
Shows and Vishal Bhagwati Jagrans.
Have also sung for Sun Cassettes and Sishodiya Cassette Co. Programmes
being telecast on Delhi Doordarshan since 1979.
Have given music and sung songs for Lashkara Channel in two serials
"Sas Tatti, Noo Kapatti" and "Daftar-e-Kamal".
The Latest cassette now being released by Venus is on Maan Ki Bheten
titled "Maan-Ki-Chunaria".

Also bestowed with Delhi Ratna Award in 1993.
Songs and interview were broadcast on "BBC" Honoured by
none other than Mayor of Walsall, Mr. Cyril Leaker, who also invited
at his residence to acknowledge the singing talents.
